These are our must haves for when the temperature drops and all we want to do is sit in front of the fire and drink hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows.
1. A Fluffy Onesie
I purchased my fluffy onesie in 2012 during winter; when I was back home, in England, visiting my family. It's my life during the colder months. There isn't anything cosier to sleep in!
2. Hot Water Bottle
When it gets super cold at night I couldn't live without one of these. It's a life saver! If I'm coming home late from the rink I'll always ask mum to put one in my bed 15 minutes before I'm home and it's perfect. This is also a must have for anyone who suffers with cramps, whenever I get cramps I just grab my hot water bottle. They also have super cute covers!
3. Moisture Mask
This body shop moisture sink in mask is a God send. I use this every three to four days just to keep my skin super soft and hydrated. It is also perfect to use if you've been out and 'accidently' slept with your make up on. Sleeping with my make up on really dries out my skin so I also make sure I hydrate it with my moisture sink in mask. You hardly need to use any. A little really does go a long way.
4. Lip Conditioner
I also struggle to keep my lips soft during winter, especially since I spend a lot of my time at the rink. Other than the discomfort, applying lipstick on top of dried lips is the worst. The finish of lipstick on dried lips is awful. My favourite lip conditioner at the moment is the Burt Bees Hydration with coconut and pear. I apply this before I apply my lipstick and also at night. It's good to have a break from the lip conditioner too. If you keep applying overtime your lips with lose the ability to moisturise themselves and will be dependant on products. Be careful!
5. Coats
I have a serious addiction to coats!! I purchase at least one a year. They are awesome during winter though and I'm also lucky enough to travel back to Europe a lot to visit family, and they are definitely a necessity over there. I recent bought a Forever New coat with a skater style skirt and a fur collar (featured in the blog post, Winter Essentials To Dress Up Any Outfit) and I'm in love. My favourite coats have the skater style skirt. I think it's so cute and goes with any outfit.
6. Ear Muffs
One of my least favourite things about winter is having cold ears! It's super uncomfortable and painful. Any beanie or fur headband will do the trick at keeping your little ears warm however I love wearing these ear muffs. Ear Muffs are something different to wear and are a lot more efficient at keeping ears warm. They are such a good investment!
7. Tea
I know I know, typical English kid. But seriously tea is fantastic during winter. I suppose any hot drink will do the trick but personally, flavoured tea is everything. I'm loving the T2 Caramel Coco at the moment.
8. An Oversized Jumper
I pretty much live in an oversized jumper during winter. I love feeling snug and cosy, especially when I'm at home. I found even women's oversized baggy jumpers were still fitted so I made the switch to Men's jumpers. They aren't fitted like women's so they have a very relaxed fit. When I go to uni I quite often pair it with a crisp white shirt and cute skirt.
9. Chanel Primer
This primer is seriously one of the best things I have ever bought. I could do a whole blog post on how much I love this product. My favourite thing about it for winter though is that you can mix it with you foundation and it makes it slightly lighter. Unfortunately being English, fair and a redhead means I never get a tan, even in Summer, but I do notice my skin lighten slightly in Winter. Mixing a small amount of this primer into my foundation is like buying a whole new lighter foundation!
10. A good TV series
A good TV series is a huge must for these colder months. I find myself wanting to stay in a lot more, especially at night and all I want to do is buy a take away and binge watch TV. Friends is a classic that I could watch on repeat for the rest of my life.
11. Warm fluffy socks
I'm never not in bed socks when I'm at home. My feet get so cold during winter and it's so uncomfortable. A lot of home, especially in Australia, have a lot of tiling and these get too cold during winter and it's horrible having to walk across them with bare feet.
12. Hand Cream
I'm pretty lucky, I don't really need to use a lot of hand cream. However during the colder months, especially when I'm at the rink, my hands need a little help to stay soft. I swear by this hand cream. It's phenomenal.
13. Bath Bombs
I love a good relaxing bath all year round .. not just in winter. However I think it's a lot more relaxing when it's cold and you're laying in hot bath. Bath bombs are the perfect addition to any bath.
14. Hair Care
The Biolage ketatin treatment spray is my go to! Again, I could make a whole blog post dedicated to how much I love this product!! It's, ahhhh, I cant' even explain how much I love it. It seriously transforms my hair. I like to mix up my hair products however this is one I'm never ever going to change. My hair has never felt more alive or softer. I highly recommend this product!!
15. A good book series
There's nothing better than being able snuggle up on a chilly morning in a warm bed with a good book. Something funny, something intriguing, whatever pleases you - find a book or even a series to fill your lazy Sundays. I'm currently re-reading The Book Thief and I'm loving it as much as I did the first time!
Love Gi & P xx
