Clubs Competition

On Sunday the 30th of August Georgia and I both competed in our first competition for the 2015 season, club championship at IceWorld Boondall. It was such a fantastic day!! Finally seeing all our hard work come together with hair, make up, costumes and all that jazz. We train so hard it's such a rewarding feeling after the competition. It really was a great way to kick off the competition season. My younger team which I coach also competed and they did spectacularly!! I couldn't prouder. They are so lovely and adorable, I love them so much. They are such a pleasure to coach and did so well at the competition. The day was a huge success and I can't wait to compete again in a couple of weeks. Our Junior team placed first and our Senior team second ❤️

When did you stop believing you were beautiful?

When did we become so obsessed with being perfect? It's important that you know you are already perfect. It's all out imperfections that make us perfect and anyway who decides whether we are 'perfect'. In my eyes perfect is boring and is there even such a things as perfect. During puberty a girls confidence plummets. But why? .. We're told that we're not pretty, we're not thin, we're not smart, we can't play that sport cause we're a girl .. Whatever the case, we are made to feel inferior. It's silly! Imagine how many industries would go out of business if women woke up and decided they loved themselves. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with wearing make up and workout or whatever, cause let's face it, I enjoy wearing nice clothes and make up as much as the next person. I just want you to know you don't need these things to be beautiful. You're beautiful without all that stuff. Be you and do it well. There is absolutely nothing wrong with who you are. If you don't enjoy wearing make up, that's fine, if you enjoy wearing make up, that's fine. If you enjoy being fit and healthy, that's fine, if you enjoying eating and watching television, that's fine. It's all fine and it's all beautiful. No one plays the role of God and determines who is and isn't beautiful. Everyone has beauty just not everyone sees it.

I know it can be hard. I'm still trying to love myself and it's okay to not love yourself right now, but hopefully you will get there and if you need help we're always here for you. Cause you are beautiful and there's no reason for you to think otherwise. I wanted to touch on this topic cause it's beauty is such a huge part of our social world and it makes many of us feel like we're not good enough. You probably don't know but I study Marketing and Public Relations at university and I'm currently doing my assignment on Dove's PR campaign and came across these videos I wanted to share... We may feel like we don't measure up but if you knew the truth behind photos, maybe you feel different.

It's crazy to think just how much editing goes behind all those photos we see in the media and what's even more crazy is that this is the 'perfection' we are attempting to achieve. One that is almost physically impossible to obtain. One of the most beautiful things a women can possess is confidence. This is something that will develop as you get older and it will differ for each person. Find what makes you confident and do it. Don't let anyone stop you. Confidence isn't something we are all born with but it's something we can all obtain. Someone people feel more confident with make up some people don't. Some people feel more confident in a dress and other choose jeans and t shirt. Whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident in yourself .. that's Perfect!

Please take a look at this video below.. I love it!!

Favourite Workout Songs August 2015

Staying motivated can be a struggle however having an up to date playlist is one of the best ways to battle this problem. I like to change up my playlist ever couple of months, you can only run so fast for so long to the same song. I've recent updated both my routine and my playlist and it's really boosted my efforts. My current playlist looks a little like this:

  • Girls The 1975
  • The Other Side Jason Derulo
  • Black Magic Little Mix
  • Love me like you do Ellie Goulding
  • Do It Again Pia Mia
  • Somebody to you The Vamps
  • Sugar Maroon 5
  • Want to want me Jason Derulo
  • Wrapped Up Olly Murs
  • I really like you Carly Rae Jepson
  • She's kinda hot 5 seconds of summer
  • Peanut butter jelly Galantis
  • Waiting for Love Avicii

Changing my playlist has really lifted my motivation to workout and the efforts I put in. Hopefully you've gained some inspiration from my new playlist and will now run twice as far, twice as hard.

Here Goes Nothing | Committing Starts Tomorrow

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you in on the current happenings of my life. After many many inspirational discussion with Paige, I've decided things need to change. Being a part of a sport at a significant level - which I often forget - it's important to stay healthy and fit, and yes... I am lazy. But that's what is going to change.

Literally messaging P right now, we've decided that my committing starts tomorrow. I realised every other time I would go on some health craze that whenever I'd have an off day, I'd give up. I'd feel as though I'd let myself down and that was the end of that chance. She's kind of gotten me to relise that every day is a chance. And I have a thing about chances... Tomorrow is a new day regardless of what happened the day before.

Not only do I want to do this to be healthier and all that jazz, but I want to do it to be happier. I love being lazy, but I hate laziness - which is a tad contradictory, so hopefully over the next while I can change that.
So... ever so dauntingly... I've decided I will post a blog post, weekly (every Sunday) about the week that has been. I'll post about what I ate, the exercise that I did, etc - so hopefully it won't only help me by keeping me accountable, but it'll give you guys some ideas for anyone on a similar track as me.
So here goes nothing... Can't wait for tomorrow.

Love G xx

Peer Pressure

I thought I'd do a post that's a little more serious than our everyday recipe or fashion advice post. It's something we all face, whether we're in high school or we're 40 and working for a well respected firm. Once we're older though we tend to be a lot better at handling the situation. As a teenager though it can be very hard to overcome and it's sad to say most girls and even boys will succumb to peer pressure and inevitably do something they will regret or don't want to do. I know it can be tough, trust me I've had to deal with it a lot growing up! But I'm going to give you a couple of way to help the situation you're being pressure into something you're not comfortable with.

The first part is Responding to your peers
  • Nicely but firmly tell them how you feel - I know it sounds corny but let them know what is going on is upsetting you.

Secondly Avoid the situation
  • There's no need to get involved in fights. Some people go seeking after arguments but its not necessary.
  • Walk away. It's as simple as that. All in all people can only pressure you into doing something if you let them, so know that you are strong enough to say no.

And probably the most important Build your self confidence
  • Know what is right for you, and what you want to and feel comfortable doing.
  • Believe in yourself - no self doubting. You are capable of anything, including standing for what you believe in.

You need to be comfortable enough and confident enough in yourself to say NO. You are better than them, no one should force someone into doing something they don't want to do. You are strong, you are beautiful and you do exactly what you want to do, regardless of what anyone else says.

People are often mean to other over silly issues such as jealousy or intimidation. So when someone is mean to you, just think about all the time they've spent thinking about you, You make your own happiness. Believe in that every second of every day and if someone is causing you pain, you don't need them. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice.

Ekka Races

I'm so excited, it's finally the day I get to wear my new Alex Perry dress!!! I'm sorry to everyone that's had to deal with me talking about my dress for the past 3 weeks haha. Today I'm going to watch some horses run around a track and drink some cocktails with my friends. Any excuse to dress up and have a drink, right? It's currently 8am and I should probably start getting ready, I always give myself ample of time to get ready cause knowing my luck my makeup will stuff up or my hair wont work. I'm wearing the Alex Perry Alisanne dress, white mimco mini envelope clutch, a flower headband I've had forever and heels from Wittner and my jewellery is just my usually Tiffany and Co rings and bracelet.

... It's now the morning after, I'm feeling great! Yesterday was super fun, I had a blast even though it stormed half way through the day. I would 100 % recommend the races, it's the perfect opportunity to get dressed up and some drinks with your friends.

As you can see we had an absolute ball. We bet on a few horses, won nothing worth mentioning hahah, ran around a foam pit and ended up at grill'd where I wanted baby chips and ended up with big chips. All in all was a wonderful day with some of the best people I know.

Celebrity Crushes

Celebrity crushes, we all have them! There's nothing wrong with it. It's kind of nice, there's no pressure to make something actually happen!! Well, except your head. Unless you're one of the lucky few to actually meet your celebrity crush and pluck up the courage to say more than hi without your voice going funny... or fainting. Seriously my worst fear. I have no shame when it comes to my celeb crushes, all of my friends know exactly who I'm in love with. My first crush was this guy though:

ZACK MORRIS, you may not all recognise him. He's one of the main characters from Saved By the Bell. This was my favourite show of all time!! They constantly ran re runs on Nickoloden and it was definitely my favourite thing as a 10 year old. Remember when you would play 'house' with your best friend and you would always choose your husband and pretend you guys had this cute family, yea? He was always mineI always hold a special place in my heart for this guy but I've moved on to guys more my own age considering the actor who plays Zack is practically my dads age. Although on saying that, when I was 15 and going through a major NCIS phase, like, I bought all the dvds! I was in love with DiNozzo:

I mean this guys is actually my mums age, so it would of been a little bizarre me dating a guy 26 years old than me at 15 but as we all do I was like it's fine, we'd get passed the age issue hahah. I suppose the two crushes I mentioned above were actually fictitious crushes since I was probably more in love with the characters they played as opposed to the actually actor. My celeb crushes at the moment though it's definitely them I'm in love with! I'm going to sound like such a typical teenage girl when you find out my celebrity crushes! But that's okay. We all have our guilty pleasures. You can't tell me you don't still listen to spice girls, or my personal fave, Peter Andre's Mysterious Girl. My celeb crushes are so cliché, it's verging on embarrassing

How can you not love those faces though! I mean seriously though they are both so cute they'll be dating super amazing models who can't be real cause they are so perfect. But we can pretend! Here's an interesting fact for you .. Harry and I grew up around 10 minutes away from each other! And we never met? No, I know it's so disappointing.

There you have it a quick look into my major celeb crushes over the years! Let's be honest, we've all had countless celebrity crushes who we find absolutely adorable!

Comment some of yours below! :)
